buying art has never been easier than 123

Collector FAQS

Why should I sign up for your newsletter?

Most newsletters go out before the print is available on the site. This allows you to buy prints before they are available to the general public and is the best way of getting one before it sells out.

How do I know that my print is authentic?

Each print comes with a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity. The certificate is signed and numbered by the artist. Using Certificates, rather than having the prints directly signed, minimizes the handling of the actual prints to guard against possible damage.

How do you ship your prints?

Our small prints are put in protective sleeves. Larger prints are usually shipped in tubes.

What is your returns policy?
If for any reason you are not satisfied with the artwork you have purchased you can return it to us within 7 days of receiving it and claim a full refund for the price of the work exclusive of postage and packaging costs. Please note that the customer is responsible for the return of the item, which must be in mint condition on arrival at gallery123 in order to claim the refund. If you have any further enquiries regarding our returns policy or would like advice on how to send the artwork back to avoid damage in transit please contact us.

What if a print gets damaged during shipping?

We package our prints with care, doing our best to ensure that they won’t be damaged, and all packages are labeled with special handling instructions. In the unfortunate event that a print is damaged, it’s the buyer’s responsibility to follow-up on and file the insurance claim. As prints are limited editions, we can’t replace damaged prints after a run has sold out.

Can I buy 25 prints of one edition and resell them?

No. We only allow people to buy 2 of the small size and one of the medium and large sizes. We do this because we want don’t want to deny our regular customers the chance to buy any of our art.

Do artists benefit from sales?

We agree a fee with the artist for the exclusive rights to print the piece.

Do you have copyright on these prints?

All rights are controlled by the artists who created the piece and by law is not transferred to the buyers of either prints or original artworks.

What’s an Artist Proof or AP?

APs are a fixed number of extra prints, outside of the set edition. These are kept by the artist and/or the publisher. At gallery123, we have an amount of APs that we share with the artist. There are a maximum of 5 of the smallest size, 3 of the medium size and 1 of the large size.

What’s an edition?

An edition is a limited run of a particular piece of artwork. Artists and their publishers and/or dealers agree to, set and honour edition sizes. Once an edition is closed, it’s closed forever. Images offered for sale on gallery123 are available exclusively through us.

Do prints look exactly like the images we see on the site?

We work hard to ensure fidelity between the images you see online and our published prints, but the tonal range of paper can be a bit different to what you see on screen.  This however is a very rare occasion!
